I've really enjoyed watching Howard while I've been here. He's got to be one of the goofiest heads of state in the free world. And speaking of goofy, I had one of those kwes-a-dilluh moments not too long ago in a cafe here in Perth. I immediately thought of your post on that!
Nice to be able to flip people off and then say "Hey, I was just adjusting my glasses!" I'm more disturbed by Howard's eyebrows - I swear they're alive.
I was at a newsagent yesterday and I think it was The Australian that had a similar picture of Peter Costello, minus the glasses of course. Must've been Flip Off the Labor Party Day in the House.
Does anyone know if Aussies really do give the middle finger as a salute, or do they prefer the two-fingered British one?
I'm inclined to say that the middle finger is probably more popular, but if you do the two-finger thingie, people will definitely know what you mean. ;)
