Watching Rocketboom(2.0) the other day, I was intrigued about a new device that must be debuting at Siggraph in Boston right now. It's kind of like a pair of roller skates that can be used in immersive virtual environments. One current limitation to IVET is that people are confined to walking the dimensions of the physical room in which the technology resides. Until now, the best solution has been to have people move to a treadmill to walk the distances, but this isn't very natural and limits the direction where one wants to go.
